Lena has been knitting for Beemohr for many years

from Jena, now I've been living in Bielefeld for about 20 years

Hairdresser, textile merchant,

How long have you been knitting?

My mother taught me how to knit very early on. In the past, a lot of children's things were knitted, so I started around the age of 9. When I was 11 I knitted my first own sweater.

How many knitting machines do you have?

5

What is your most important tool for machine knitting?

The programming unit

What do I enjoy most about knitting?

The accurate work, the ability of the knitting machines, although I still have some from the 70s. I like to process the larger quantities in the mornings, and in the afternoons I take care of designs and optimizations.

What is your favorite time to knit?

Mornings, afternoons and sometimes evenings.

Which "knitting project" do you like best?

I like to design and implement my own things, mostly things that I give away to my family or friends. In principle, I have so much wool that I could embroider my whole neighborhood.

What is your favorite type of knitting?

"Mäusezähnchen"

What is your favorite wool?

Merino

What has been your stupidest mistake on the knitting machine so far?

Once I fell in love with all the stitches because I didn't see that the thread broke, it took a lot of time. Another time, coffee actually ran over the machine, into the needle bed. I had to laboriously take everything apart and dry it, after which my knitting machine was in great shape again :-)

What was your best idea on the knitting machine?

Trade secret, I won't tell

What bothers you most while knitting?

When my husband enters my kingdom, usually because of a little something, that always pulls me out of the flow.

What else can you do?

Cutting hair, cooking, chess, sewing ... is actually part of knitting, painting

What are your hobbies?

Playing the violin, cooking, restoring furniture, reading, painting
